Mushroom walk

Often considered poisonous, dangerous and mysterious, mushrooms have been misunderstood for centuries. Recently, changing perspectives and growing scientific interest in soil life have brought fungi into a new light. During this walk through the forest of the Franse Kamp in Bussum, photographer-turned-ecological-gardener David in den Bosch will introduce us to the world of mushrooms, foraging and foraying. Along the way, mushrooms become more than just organisms in the forest: they offer ways of thinking about society, capitalism and healing. Not to mention that they’re simply delicious. The walk takes place in a former agricultural forest that, over time, has become the first “natural forest” in the Netherlands. We will learn how to read this landscape in order to find our mushy friends.
Info: Bring water, suitable clothing and footware. Bring something to share for a picnic-style lunch. Sign up before SEPTEMBER 25 if you’d like to participate. There's 15 spots available for the walk.
