Mushroom walk

Often considered poisonous, dangerous and mysterious,
mushrooms have been misunderstood for centuries.
Recently, changing perspectives and growing scientific
interest in soil life have brought fungi into a new light.
During this walk through the forest of the Franse Kamp
in Bussum, photographer-turned-ecological-gardener
David in den Bosch will introduce us to the world of
mushrooms, foraging and foraying.
Along the way, mushrooms become more than just
organisms in the forest: they offer ways of thinking
about society, capitalism and healing. Not to mention
that they’re simply delicious.
The walk takes place in a former agricultural forest
that, over time, has become the first “natural forest”
in the Netherlands. We will learn how to read this
landscape in order to find our mushy friends.

Bring water, suitable clothing and footware.

FRUIT BASKET is an event series centred on sharing informal knowledge through presentations and collective outdoor activities. The indoor events take place monthly at De Lange Adam in Amsterdam Oost, with usually three speakers presenting over the course of an evening. There are currently three formats for the indoor event, each with its own focus.
FRUIT BASKET, the original event, is centred on sharing interests, fascinations and practical knowledge—things you find interesting, things you know a lot about, and things you think others might find useful.
FRUIT BASKET (HARVEST) focuses on sharing personal discoveries of all kinds, whether that’s music, film, TV, literature, food, or perhaps even a person or a building.
FRUIT BASKET (BREAD & BUTTER) shines a light on different forms of work, inviting both seasoned and emerging practitioners to share their knowledge and experiences.
FRUIT BASKET OUT OF OFFICE (Ooo) is a seasonal series of open-air presentations, activities and adventures in and around Amsterdam, each time hosted by a different guest.
